Brew Watch Co. has unveiled its boldest experiment yet (and that is saying because they already are a bold brand, and we love them for that): the Metric – Digital Blend, the world’s first hybrid timepiece to combine traditional analog timekeeping with a digital LED espresso timer. Where earlier models nodded to coffee culture through dial graphics or color cues, this one literally embeds espresso timing into your wrist.
This announcement builds on Brew’s reputation for playful, design-forward watches that speak to aficionados of both horology and coffee (just like me, writing an article about a new watch while drinking coffee).

Hybrid Design Meets Coffee Ritual
The Metric – Digital Blend fuses two aesthetic worlds: the upper half is a classic analog dial with applied markers and lumed hands, while the lower quarter hides a brushed-metal framed LED display. When inactive, the LED remains masked by a textured surface; press and hold the dedicated pusher, and the display fires to life.

The LED segment is not for hours or minutes — it’s dedicated to a 30‑second espresso countdown. Once the timer reaches zero, a small animated percolating coffee cup appears, followed by a beep. It’s a fun, niche feature, but one that ties directly to Brew’s identity.
The case measures 37.5 mm × 43 mm (lug-to-lug), with a thickness of 13 mm. It’s crafted from 316L stainless steel, with a sapphire crystal protecting the dial. The watch comes on what is already a classic for Brew: an integrated-style flat-link steel bracelet.
While Brew’s previous watches often referenced coffee via design motifs (colored segments for shot timing, bean logos), this is the first one that embeds coffee functionality in the mechanics itself. It’s a bold statement: Brew isn’t just inspired by coffee culture, it wants to participate in it.

Under the hood is a custom hybrid analog-digital module, designed especially to run the analog timekeeping and the espresso timer. Aside from the timer, the analog half handles hours, minutes, and seconds in conventional fashion.
Some will argue that a fixed 30-second timer is a gimmick — and that’s fair. But for espresso enthusiasts who aim for a 25–30 second extraction, it’s a quirky and direct tool. The added animation (coffee cup) gives it personality that’s rare in watches.
Pricing, Availability & Where to Get One
The Brew Metric – Digital Blend is available now from Brew’s official site, priced at USD $425. Brew offers global shipping (3–6 days depending on region) and a 12-month warranty.

From a design perspective, it’s an intriguing contrast: retro-futuristic, with nods to 1970s style in the analog half and ’80s LED sawtooth display in the lower portion. For collectors, it adds a distinctive piece to the Metric line that stands apart from its siblings.
